Activities

Ground Survey (6 June 2014 - 26 July 2014)

NG 41400 74200 A desk-based assessment and walkover survey were carried out, 6 June – 26 July 2014, in advance of proposed development work. The work produced a record of structures and features within the site boundaries. These consist of the remains of a walled garden, stone dykes and enclosures, structures relating to the former Duntulm Steadings and Farm, and more ephemeral features of unknown function and origin. It probable that these sites relate to post-medieval settlement

remains, relating to activities focused on Duntulm Steadings and the associated farm.

A strategy of mitigation was recommended and evaluation and recording of the main building and steading complex must await evaluation and watching briefs during the proposed site developments.
