Archaeology Notes

NG44SE 85 4788 4420

A programme of archaeological trial trenching was carried out by CFA Archaeology Ltd, between the 15th and 25th February 2005, within the site of a proposed residential housing development at Home Farm, Portree on the Isle of Skye. The field evaluation covered 11,037m squared within a total of ninety trenches. Several features of archaeological importance were identified.

Watching Brief (October 2006 - March 2007)

A watching brief was conducted by CFA Archaeology Ltd. during topsoil removal work on the iste of a residential housing development at Home Farm, on the northern edge of Portree, Isle of Skye. The work was commissioned bt Lochalsh & Skye Housing Association and Robertson Homes.
