Duisdale Hotel, Matthews & Lawrie, 1867 Hen-speckled rubble, gabled lodge in fine woodland garden setting, said to be the site of an ancient nunnery. The angular, threestorey bay windows are presumably part of additions by W. L. Carruthers, 1895.

Taken from "Western Seaboard: An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Mary Miers, 2008. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
