The vessel is reported to have sunk while engaged on repair work on a moored oil rig around 1970 or 1971.

Surveying Details

20 April 1983. A sunken barge, laden with steel scaffolding, is reported as having been located in the approximate position 56 09 02N, 002 56 36W.

19 September 1984. The obstruction is located, but not investigated, at 56 08 58N, 002 57 00W.

29 August 1987. The site located at 56 08 58N, 002 56 57W and proves to be a wooden barge standing 2 metres high and about 30 feet (9.1 metres) long.

(Location entered as NT 4103 9559 [N56 8.9667 W2 56.95]).UKHO chart no. 734 (1993, revised 1995) charts this wreck [Wk] at depth 24m in a general depth of between 22m and 29m, 3.55nm SW of Kincraig Point. A seabed of mud is charted to the SE.

The wreck lies within the E side of the Largo Bay anchorage area.

No detailed description of this wreck is apparently available.
