Field Visit (1983)

ND49SW 18 4312 9081

In April 1983 a complex area of mounds was disturbed by stone clearance trenches. Drystone masonry walls, middens and Iron Age pottery and stone tools were found. Part of a lintelled cell, c2m long x 0.55m wide and 0.55m high was exposed which may have opened up into a curved chamber. The pottery is now in Tankerness House Museum.

B Smith 1983.
