HU42SW 8 c. 40 23.

An axe of mottled felsite, highly polished, of rare bent form, 9 ins long by 3 ins at the cutting edge, tapering to a point at the top, from Dunrossness (parish name: HU 40 23) was purchased for the Smith Institute, Stirling at the Mitchell Sale in 1911. (Accession no. 3379)
