Archaeology Notes

NT51SW 105 50214 14523

The 1906 edition of Kellys lists the tweed manufacturer the Teviot Tweed Company with an address at 17 High Street. This is contradicted by the 1906 edition of Edgar's Hawick Guide, which lists the same company as a tweed merchant with an address on Round Close.

Information taken from The Industrial Archaeology of the Tweed and Hosiery Textiles Mills of Hawick, with particular reference to their development, ownership and prime movers between 1820 and 1930, October 1997
