At ND 4413 8726 on the summit of Sandy Hill is a cairn, visible as a turf-covered stony mound, 1.2m high and 11.0m in diameter. The centre has been disturbed and some of the stones used to build a modern marker cairn just off centre.
Surveyed at 1/2500.
Visited by OS (ISS) 6 May 1973.
Field Visit (17 April 1994)
This cairn was visited as part of the Orkney Barrows Project. It measures 8.5m in diameter and 0.85m in height. It is damaged where it was cut through for construction of the radar station. Some stone is visible, and the cairn is best seen from the W.
