Archaeology Notes

HU42NW 13 c. 430 287.

An imperfect, polished basalt axe from Queyfield, measuring 7 1/8 by 2 3/4 by 1 1/2 ins, was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) in 1911 by R C Haldane, Lochend, Lerwick (Accession no: AF 606). (Queyfield not located: ? Quee - Quey on OS 6" 1881, at HU 430 287.)
