Archaeology Notes

ND36NE 11 c. 379 684.

A kitchen-midden at Midtown, Freswick, yielded a hammer-stone of coral which was donated to the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS) by Simon Bremner.

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1929.

ND 384 685. There is now no trace of this kitchen-midden.

C E Batey 1982.

No evidence of a kitchen midden was located. Older inhabitants could not recall a midden or find in the immediate area and suggested the hammer-stone was possibly discovered on Freswick Links (ND36NE 4).

Visited by OS (J B) 12 July 1982.
