Shaft/Mine Details: 2 shafts, No. 5 101m deep (to Ironstone), Air Shaft 49m (to Mill Coal)

Details in 1948: Output 300 tons per day, 82,500 tons per annum, longwall working. 325 employees. 3 tables, but only 2 shakers [tables and shakers allowed the grading of coal by size and the removal of non-coal debris]. Baum-type washer (Blantyre Engineering Company) [equipment for the wet cleaning of coal]. Baths, canteen, first-aid services. All electricity AC and generated at colliery. Report dated 28-07-1948.

Other Details: The washery was built in the 1930s, but was retained after closure in 1965 to treat coal from other local mines.
