Archaeology Notes

ND34SW 94 30506 42714.

This 'simple long cairn' recorded by Mercer is considered by Davidson and Henshall to be 'too amorphous for classification but probably natural'.

R J Mercer 1985; J L Davidson and A S Henshall 1991.

This marker cairn is situated on a low rise in heather moorland 580m SSW of South Yarrows farmsteading. It comprises a mound of loose, roughly piled stones measuring 5m in diameter and 0.6m in height.
