Field Visit (25 April 1994)

NX55SW 71 5239 5491

Close to the SE corner of a pasture field above the E bank of the Kirkdale Burn, and about 1km NE of Cairnholy farmsteading, there are the robbed remains of a rectangular building measuring 12m from E to W by 4.8m transversely over faced-rubble walls 1.1m thick and up to 0.3m high. Scattered across the field to the N and W, and also in the field to the S, there are fragments of banks, lynchets, and field clearance heaps.
