HU 403 190. Two stilts and the beam of a probable Iron Age ard plough were found in 1965 under 6 feet of peat and are now in Shetland Museum.

(Undated) information from Mr T Henderson (Curator, Shetland Museum).

Fragments of an oak staff with horn ferrule on the tip (ARC 65220) were found in 1960, whilst casting peats, by J. Sinclair, Outvoe, close by the findspot of the plough.

Accession Register, Shetland Museum.

The find-spot of the probable Iron Age plough, at HU 4035 1918, was pointed out by peat diggers.

Visited by OS (RL), 17 May 1968.

Discussed with A Fenton, National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS), 3rd March 1970, who agrees that the

plough is probably of Iron Age date, but to get a C14 dating on it. (off Milton Crannog - plough dated to C14 350B.C.).

(Undated) information from OS (JLD).
