Archaeology Notes

NT55NW 35 514 580

A possible enclosure is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1993) to the W of the fort on Tollis Hill. This may be the result of quarrying as the 1st edition of the Ordnance Survey 6-inch map (Berwickshire 1854-62, sheet VII) depicts Old Whinstone Quarries to the South at NT 5147 5751.

Information from RCAHMS (RHM & LS) 1 November 1995.
