(ND 2264 4822) Socketed Bronze Spearhead found AD 1864 (NAT)

OS 1:10,000 map, (1976)

A bronze spearhead was found at a depth of 4ft during peat cutting in 1864 by H Mackay of Kensary. It was given to Capt Alex Gunn of Braehour, who presented it to the National Musuem of Antiquities of Scotland (NMAS), although it does not appear in the Catalogue. From Mr Mackay's description it appears to have been about 6ins long, socketed, and with a midrib, but with no loops or flanges.

Name Book 1871; NMAS 1882.
