All Other C 97719 NC The Scotsman newspaper cutting, inscr. "Castlehill house to be demolished Hotel project in doubt Castlehill House, an eighteenth century country house at Castletown, Caithness, which was destroyed by fire eight months ago, is to be demolished. Experts who have examined the building have declared it unsafe. Mr Mark Murray, Theipland, Westerdale, one of two men who had planned to convert the house into a hotel said they had not decied whether to go ahead with the project. "It is a great pity that a house with such atmosphere should have to be demolished," he added. Demolition work is due to start in the near future." 1/8/1967 Item Level
