NX55NE 52 550 556

This farmstead comprises three buildings (Cree94 30-32) set around a courtyard, with three adjacent enclosures. The buildings have mortared-rubble walls and are shown as roofed on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch map (Kirkcudbrightshire 1854, sheet 43; 1896, sheet xlvii). The easternmost building (Cree94 30) has fireplaces at both ends and fragments of an enclosure on the NE. The building along the SE side of the courtyard has been a byre, with three pairs of opposed slit windows in the side walls and two slit windows in the SW end. The third building (Cree94 32) has been largely robbed but there are two opposed aumbries at the SW end of the side walls.
