The present building and its machinery are a replacement of a former mill but the same mill pond and dam outlet to water wheel are used (see 1st & 2nd edition of OS 25-inch map, Lanarkshire, 1861 & 1897, sheet XLIII.13). See MS/500/36/20.

This farmstead has an L-shaped plan and includes a water-powered threshing mill. It is built of rubble with slate roofs and was visited in 2000.
