Archaeology Notes

HU38NE 111 c. 367 897.

A broken axe of indurated clay slate, measuring 5 3/4 by 3 by 1 1/4 ins, with only one surface polished, and an adze of dark indurated claystone, 6 by 2 3/4 by 1 ins, polished all over, both from North Roe (name: HU 367 897) were donated to the National Museum of Antiquties of Scotland (NMAS) in 1911 by R C Haldane, Lochend, Lerwick (Accession nos: AF 607 & AF 614).
