Archaeological Evaluation (14 July 2014 - 23 July 2014)

NH 6527 4120 A desk-based assessment, topsoil survey with test pits, and a watching brief were carried out, 14–23 July 2014, on a new house plot at Torbreck. Topsoil test pits were undertaken due to previous reports of a lithic scatter in the adjacent field. On this occasion some modern material was recovered as well as one struck lithic and two possible quartz cores. The watching brief recorded three features, two possibly natural rough pits with no cultural material and a modern cattle burial.
