Activities

Standing Building Recording (August 2006 - February 2007)

NT 2529 6160 A programme of historic building recording and an archaeological evaluation were undertaken between August 2006 and February 2007 on the site of Dalmore Paper Mill in Auchendinny, prior to its demolition. The exercise revealed the earliest early 19th-century phases of the paper mill, together with

early 20th-century additions to the mill. Investigations beneath the modern car park also exposed a possible 17th- to 18th-century mill building up to 5m in depth surviving.

Archive to be deposited with RCAHMS.

Funder: Thomas Mitchell Homes.
