Archaeology Notes

NJ41SW 38.09 4134 1475

This enclosure survives as drystone dykes (0.2m high and 1m wide) on three sides; the fourth (N) side is poorly preserved.

Visited by CFA, October 1992.

CFA 1993; MS/625/32.

This enclosure survives as a 1m-wide drystone dyke on three sides; the fourth (on the N) is more poorly-preserved. Four small cairns and one larger one are situated to the N of the wall and may represent rubble from the gaps in the wall.

Information from Mrs M Greig (Grampian Regional Council), 24 April 1995.

This monument is situated on a moderate S-facing slope in an area of rough grazing at an altitude of 320m OD.

(GRC/AAS air photographs: AAS/92/10/G11/8-10 and 13, flown 22 December 1992).

NMRS, MS/712/46.

There is no enclosure at this location. The CFA surveyors appear to have identified the limits of an area of unimproved ground, the edges of which are, in part, defined by contiguous dumps of field cleared stones.

Visited by RCAHMS (JRS, ATW), 28 April 1997.
