Clinel.

W Roy 1747-55.

A township, comprising two roofed buildings, six unroofed buildings, five enclosures and a head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879, sheet xciv). One roofed, four unroofed buildings, seven enclosures and part of the head-dyke are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,000 map (1992). Part of the township was submerged when the water level of Loch Shin was raised for a hydro-electric scheme.
