Situated immediately N of the sand dunes and above the mean high water mark is a continuous double line of concrete anti-tank blocks stretching for about 609m W to E.
The blocks stand on larger concrete bases and most have beach stones set into the top. Some blocks, especially those at the W end of the beach have been moved from their original position.
Many of the blocks have now been dislodged by tidal action, some have toppled on to their side.
The blocks form part of a defensive system at Sandend which includes an anti-tank gun pilbox (NJ56NE 27.02) and a type 24 pillbox (NJ56NE 27.03 at the E end and a second type 24 pillbox at the W end (NJ56NE 27.01).
