A type 22 pillbox is situated on top of a mound on the N side of the A 93 road and dismantled railway. Built of stone with a concrete roof, it has six sides and measures about 10 feet in width and stands to approximately 8 feet. Six loopholes were noted, two in the side opposite the door.

Visited by J Guy 1992; NMRS MS 810/1. 45, 1993

A six sided pillbox is situated on the N side of the A93 and former railway line, about 200m E of Heugh Head. The pillbox was covering the road and the former Aberdeen to Ballater railway. The road has recently been realigned and the old railway bridge has been removed. The area surrounding the pillbox has been cleared and tidied.
