Archaeology Notes

NG54SE 14 5636 4190

On a level grassy terrace on a SW-facing hillside above the watershed of the Allt a'Bhraghad and at a height of 330m OD is a single two-celled shieling. It is aligned N-S with the larger cell to the S. The large cell measures 4m by 2.3m the smaller 3.1m by 2.0m. Very distinct narrow entrances are visible both into the large cell and from the large cell to the smaller. Some 5m to the S is an indistinct single cell structure; a second similar structure lies 5m to the N.

Visited by NN and IJ, 26 March 1991.
