Cropmarks of an extensive area of broad rig-and-furrow cultivation have been revealed by aerial photography (GRC/AAS 1993) in two fields on the S side of the River Don immediately SE of Bridge of Keig (NJ61NW 13). The main axis of the rig is NNE and SSW, but small patches are visible where the rigs are aligned WNW and ESE. These patches almost certainly represent the latest phase of the ridged cultivation, which is probably contemporary with the rig on the same alignment (NJ61NW 64) in the plantation immediately to the S.
