Field Visit (23 October 1991)

The mineheads at Pits Nos. 2 and 3 (Cleish91.46) lie close together, with mounds of spoil tips lying both E and W. Three concrete machinery plinths, together with the foundations of several brick buildings can be identified, and what is probably a shaft has been fenced off in a clump of brambles at the W end of the largest of the plinths. The bing has been severely disturbed around the minehead, but still forms a massive mound at its W end. A railway siding ran into the S side of the mine from the W.
