The ruins of a substantial farmstead are situated at the top of a rise to the SE of Steelend. The buildings are ranged round a yard with the remains of a covered horse-engine on the E, and a shallow pond to the N. The farmstead is depicted as roofed on both the 1st and 2nd editions of the OS 6-inch maps (Fife and Kinross, 1856, sheet 30; Fifeshire, 1897, sheet xxxiii SE) and named on the 1st edition (ibid) as ' Miry Hall'.
