Field Visit (8 October 1992)

NH63SE 59 6758 3007.

Three of the four buildings at Drumlea are at least partially roofed. Those to the S are disposed around three sides of a sunken yard. To the E of the roofed two-storey cottage, there are the footings of a rectangular two-compartment building measuring 11m from E to W by 4.3m transversely internally, with an entrance on the S.

A farmstead, comprising two roofed buildings, two partially roofed buildings, two unroofed buildings and two enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1874, sheet xxxi). Three of the buildings form a courtyard. Three roofed buildings and two enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1975).
