Archaeology Notes

NG51NW 5 54750 17159

Lying across a small burn about 600m W of Kilmarie House [NG51NE 37], at about 25m OD is a stone built, single arch bridge. The bridge is 4.5m wide, has no parapets and carries a cart track which runs from the A881/B8083 to the general area of site NG51NW 4.

Visited by M Wildgoose October 1990.

Site recorded in the spring of 1997 during a field survey carried out by Martin Wildgoose and associates on part of the John Muir Trust's Strathaird Estate. The surveyed portion lies to the S and E of Bla Bheinn, some 3000ha of undulating lowland terrain lying between the coast and the Cuillin mountains.
