A late Georgian cylindrical dovecot stands at the edge of the field to the rear of the Urr Valley Hotel (formerly Ernespie Hotel); it has been remodelled, if not almost entirely rebuilt. The walls are constructed of sandstone rubble with inclusions of brick and glazed tile, and contain several lancet windows. The bird-entry holes are set between a continuous rat-ledge below and a corbelled ledge above, and the whole is completed by a battlemented parapet.
