Ground Penetrating Radar (September 1989)
Manuscripts from the Barri Jones collection pertaining to the rectilinear enclosure at Boyndie. This was part of a remote-sensing exercise for Harry Stranger Ltd.
On a sloping site between the A98 and B9121 roads a square cropmark with well-rounded corners and covering approximately 1.5ha was investigated using ground radar, and the presence of a ditch was confirmed.
Much eroded residual ditch found on N, E and S sides. Rounded SE corner verified. Geological investigation shows evidence of extensive soil erosion due to wind. No artefacts or carbon found.

Excavation (May 2008 - June 2008)
NJ 6530 6360 and NH 987 571 Two archaeological evaluations were conducted in May–June 2008 across the
proposed site of two cropmark enclosures identified during the Moray Aerial Survey. In the intervening years since the publication of the AP both sites have been subjected to heavy ploughing. Archaeological remains are now only present at Darnaway, the site at Boyndie seemingly having been eroded away completely.
