Invermarkie Lodge, from 1705. Close to the tumbling Deveron, built as shooting lodge by Duffs to replace Invermarkie

Castle; an important lairdship of the Inneses, it was dismantled in the 17th century. Two-storey L-plan now in rough granite with angle quoins and pencil-thin turrets to wing and larger, fishscale-slated ones to main block, 1887.

Taken from "Aberdeenshire: Donside and Strathbogie - An Illustrated Architectural Guide", by Ian Shepherd, 2006. Published by the Rutland Press http://www.rias.org.uk
