The old house of Barreman is of two storeys, part very old. It had a thatched roof. Over the door the names 'Patrick Cumming - 1730 - Mary McFarlane' are cut.

W C Maughan 1897.

A small, unpretentious house with thick walls and date stone as described. In the attic is the date '1772'. The house has been altered and is inhabited.
