At the NE end of a ridge, a polygonal, almost circular enclosure with possible indications of ditching. Bisected by present field system.

(Location cited as NJ 488 275). Ord Hill. Air photography (AAS/85/05/R11(1)/1-3 and AAS/92/04/G1/25-8, flown 16 July 1992) has recorded this enclosure in an area of pasture at the NE end of a ridge at an altitude of about 260m OD.

(Location cited as NJ 4880 2747). The remains of a large plantation enclosure are situated in pasture at the NE end of Ord Hill, about 260m N of Upper Ord steading (NJ42NE 113). It measures about 140m in diameter within a grass-grown stony bank spread up to 4m in thickness and 0.4m in height.
The plantation is depicted as circular on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Aberdeenshire, 1870, sheet xlii), but it is polygonal, its perimeter extending in short straight sections on the NE.
