Baledigle: The remains of a farm-steading which, by 1873, had been many years in ruins.

Name Book 1873.

The remains of two rectangular house footings measuring 9m by 3m and 7m by 2.5m, also about six turf covered shieling structures. In the locality there are about nine or ten pits or quarries ranging in size from 3m by 2m to 5m by 5m and in depth from 0.5m to 1m; some have irregular blocks of stone strewn around their edges. The circular structure at NC 9120 4187 is a later sheepfold. It is constructed of dry stone work and measures 9m in diameter internally with a height of 0.3m.

Four unroofed buildings are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xlvii) and they are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1962).
