Archaeology Notes

NG62SW 74 6330 2206

Lying close by the E side of the tramway to the S of a culvert which takes a burn beneath the embankment at 45m OD is a boulder-built structure. The walls are built of large boulders set in a double row with a small stone infill. The remains measure 7.3m E-W by 6.3m N-S

over walls 1.5m thick. The NW corner of the structure has been robbed

to provide building stone for the culvert.

Visited by C Stansfield, IJ and GH 1 April 1990.
