Archaeology Notes

ND01NW 48 c. 02 15

Possibly on map sheet ND01SW.

A hemispherical piece of pink sandstone with a small, flat-based hollow, and smoothed edges is in Dunrobin Museum, possibly received in 1884.

It measures 2.5ins in diameter, 1.8ins high 1.3ins in interior diameter and 0.7ins in depth. A partly illegible label indicates that it came from 'Croft - Helmsdale', (Accession no. 1884.3).

Information from TS of the Catalogue of Dunrobin Museum by A S Henshall.
