Field Visit (12 November 1991)

NT60NE 20.06 6500 0815.

A single building is situated within a subrectangular enclosure on the edge of the river terrace on the NE bank of the Carter Burn. The building and enclosure have been cut through in the construction of a roadway (NT60NE 20.05).

The building, whose S end has been cut away by the ditch for the road, measures at least 3.5m from NE to SW by 3m transversely within a low bank spread to 1.5m in thickness and 0.2m in height. The enclosure measures about 100m from WNW to ESE by 55m transversely within a low bank, which is difficult to trace along the edge of the river terrace. (ROX92 1)

Visited by RCAHMS (PJD) 12 November 1991.

Sbc Note

Visibility: Upstanding building, which may not be intact.
