Accessing Scotland's Past Project

This gate lodge, built in the first half of the nineteenth century, is situated to the west of Kames House.

The lodge is single-storeyed, with an attic floor lit by dormer windows. There are Venetian windows on the ground floor; a form of window which comprises three apertures, with the central one being the largest. To the front, there are ornate iron gates leading into the grounds and a decorative cobbled path which leads to the lodge.
