Information from a catalogue slip:

Report of Newington Church, 1876, p.17 'Mr Lessels, architect was asked to prepare plans of a suitable church, which have been approved. Owing to his illness, procedure was interrupted for some time; arrangements, however have now been made for receiving offers from contractors for the erection of the church'.

Conversion to concert hall by Robert Hurd & Partners, 1978-9. Opened as the Queen's Hall, new home of the Scottish Philharmonic Society, by Her Majesty the Queen 6 July 1979.
