Visited by OS September 1974; February 1979.

From Stronenaba on map sheet the military road is believed to run N as far as Rathliesbeag parallel to and to the E of the A82. A very fragmented, eroded, faint and intermittent track was recorded, which displays no military features. From this point, the military line is shared by the A82 as far N as Glenfintaig Lodge (now renamed The Old Coach Inn), where the gravel drive is believed to lie on the original route. The line is then overlain by a modern tarmac road to Upper Glenfintaig, the River Gloy being traversed by a reconstructed military bridge, Low Bridge (NN28NW 3) at NN 2244 8643. At NN 2248 8667, where the tarmac road turns E, the military road continues N.

This section takes the form of a modern well-maintained private farm track giving access to stock pens, and having a well drained and satisfactory surface. Along this section are a number of square stone culverts: NN28NW 4.01 at NN 2263 8735, NN28NW 4.02 at NN 2265 8742, NN28NW 4.03 at NN 2270 8761, NN28NW 4.04 at NN 2274 8768, NN28NW 4.05 at NN 2282 8784 and NN28NW 4.06 at NN 2284 8788. They give the appearance of being part of the original drainage system. Having been well-maintained and possibly partly reconstructed, they have modern pipes inserted through them.

At NN 2312 8878 the farm track rejoins the A82, which overlays the military line for a majority of the stretch along the side of Loch Lochy. In the vicinity of NN 2318 8888 there are possible traces of an early road and at this point the remains of the 18th century route may take the form of a terrace between the railway and the modern road. The railway embankment and road cutting have cut and mutilated this section. In the neighbourhood of NN 2345 8919 sections of track are also visible on the NW side of the A82 which may be fragments of military road, but display no military features.
