Archaeology Notes

NC95SE 1 989 505.

NC 988 503. A kidney-shaped, heather-covered mound, 15m by 25m by 1.5m high, beside a burn.

R J Mercer 1980.

The above mound applies to one of four shieling mounds centred at NC 989 505, on the N side of Abhainn nam Bruach Dubha. The mounds vary from 15.0m by 12.0m to 10.0m by 8.0m and stand to a maximum height of 0.8m; traces of bothy footings indicate their shieling nature.

Surveyed at 1:10,000.
