(NC 191 487) Fionndail Mhor.

OS 1:10,560 map (1963)

This township comprises twelve roofed, one partially roofed and one unroofed building as depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xxx). The site comprises 16 roofed and six unroofed buildings as depicted on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1963).

Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 14 August 1995

A fragmentary length of track, situated on the W edge of the township, and a possible enclosure, were recorded during a pre-afforestation survey of Scourie and Foindle Common Grazings.

The track, extends up the hillside close to the modern road, is roughly 50m long and 1.5m to 2m wide. The track is revetted on the downhill side and has a stone edging on the uphill slope. It is a continuation of a boundary to some enclosed ground within the township. A stony bank lies on a level patch of ground below, and to the S of, the track. It forms an arc, open to the E, and measures approximately 9m in length, 2m in width and 0.4m in height. It is possibly the remnants of an enclosure disturbed by the construction of the modern road.
