There are four buildings and an enclosure to the N of the track and one building and an enclosure (shown on the first edition map) to the S and described in the ONB as 'a substantial farmsteading with offices attached'.

Field Walking (2012)

The NMRS and SMR record the remains of a farmstead comprising at least five buildings and two enclosures. One of the buildings appears to be depicted as ruined on the Ordnance Survey 1st Edition map (1874).

AMEC identified three buildings (1-3 in gazetteer, relabelled NJ04NW0053a-c here).

CFA identified a further three structures: an enclosure and possible building attached (NJ04NW0053d); a building (NJ04NW0053e); and a second building (NJ04NW0053f). All the features had been trampled by cattle.

NJ04NW0053a-c: Largely as described, although NJ04NW0053b appears to be an enclosure rather than a building.

NJ04NW0053d: The remains of a double compartment sub-rectangular enclosure with a possible compartment sub-rectangular enclosure with a possible rectangular building measuring 9m by 4m attached to the SE side, and an isolated fragment of wall to the SW. The enclosure, possible building and wall survive as tumbled drystone turf covered walls measuring 1m-1.5m by 0.5m-0.7m high.

NJ04NW0053e: A denuded building measuring 7m by 5m defined by low turf covered walls measuring 1.2m wide by 0.3m high.

NJ04NW0053f: The denuded remains of a building measuring 9m by 4m defined by low turf covered walls measuring 1m wide by 0.3m-0.4m high.
