Archaeology Notes

NG51NE 12.1 5893 1616.

Situated amongst rough pasture on a W-facing slope is a large stone-built sheep fank, measuring 24m NE-SW by 12m NW-SE; the pen has an entrance 1m wide in the NE side. The interior has been divided into two equal halves by a wall which runs NW-SE with a central doorway.

Twinning pens lie in the N, W and S corners of the northern half of the fank.

Visited by M Craik 3 April 1990.
