Archaeology Notes

ND13SW 27 1087 3372.

At this site are a number of houses and buildings at least 2 of which have been incorporated into later sheep folds. To the E are 2 long houses, one of which appears to have been converted into a kiln barn, and a third smaller building.

Information from Historic Scotland July 1992.

What may be a township comprising five unroofed buildings, two of which are long buildings, and five enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Caithness 1877, sheet xxxviii). Five unroofed structures and four enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10,560 map (1962).

Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 8 January 1996.
