Field Visit (29 March 1990)

NJ34SE 36 3965 4131.

This farmstead is the southerly of two farms named Aultnapaddock on the first edition of the OS 6-inch map, which depicts three buildings, two enclosures and a horse-gang (Aberdeenshire 1874, xxiv; Name Book 1870). By 1902 the farmstead had been remodelled and is shown on the second edtion map as ranges of buildings enclosing a square courtyard (Aberdeenshire 1902, xxiv NE); these buildings now stand in ruins. The second farm (NJ 399 417) is still roofed but is no longer occupied.

Visited by RCAHMS (SH) 29 March 1990.
